GENERAL
START-UP
A
Baptist Student Union (BSU) should follow the prescribed procedure on that
particular campus in becoming a recognized campus based student organization.
The
following are usually necessary:
1.
Filing and constitution with the office that coordinates student
activities
2.
Giving evidence of student interest and need for your organization.
3.
Obtaining an advisor (faculty/church) for your group.
4.
How the organization can be a benefit to the institution such as well
mannered, good
intentioned, spirit led students whose
aim is to affect others on campus to good behavior.
Included
in the benefits to the Baptist Student Union are:
1.
Use of the institution’s name when referring to the organization.
2.
Use of the institution’s facilities for regular meetings and special
programs.
3.
Use of the institution’s personnel as advisors/directors.
4.
Use of the institution’s media (newspaper, TV/radio) for
announcements.
5.
Opportunity to post notices and announcements on campus.
6.
Access to the student activity’s budget to support BSU activities.
7.
The feeling of being a part of the institution’s student life in
ministry.
